HYDROSCAN®  - Survey Method

The HYDROSCAN survey system consists of high sensitivity EM sensor assemblages, high performance data acquisition instrumentation and special adapted acquisition and processing software.
The detection depth for economic exploitable HC reservoirs is at least 4,000 m.

The following survey operation options are available:

ground-based: stationary at survey points on the earth´s surface onshore

helicopter-borne: dynamic moving along survey-lines above the earth´s surface onshore and offshore

The natural LF EM-fields are sampled within the investigation area. By means of different processing steps the signal spectra over defined frequency bands are obtained.

From further analysis seismo-EM spectral attributes are derived and their quantity distribution are represented in contour plots covering the investigation area.

Especially the signal power is suitable to define the HC Productivity Potential (HPP) and thus, it is a reliable parameter for assessment of HC reservoir zones in the underground.

On a HPP contour map the referenced threshold isoline indicates the HC/no-HC contact and thus delineates the boundary of the lateral trap structure.
Furthermore anomaly zones of increased HPP-values ("potential productivity hot spots") could be identified laterally within the contour map.

Beside the unique detection performance, HYDROSCAN provides considerably advantageous and efficient survey features, such as highly flexible and fast operation, small footprint with high lateral resolution ability, no need for external active sources or large infrastructure such as cables and transportation, no environmental impact, reliable data acquisition with high signal-to-noise-ratios between HC reservoir and non-HC rock mass.
